MISSION AND SUMMARY OF POSITION
The role of the Junior .Net Developer is to identify, analyze and solve issues associated with existing systems, performing bug fixes and enhancing existing functionalities. The Junior .Net Developer will be working under the director and senior developers to understand how the system works and make changes accordingly. The person will also help documenting system requirements and validating business rules by looking through existing functions (reverse engineering).

DEPARTMENT
The Software Development Department provides support to 1st Global Financial Advisors and assistants and internal operations by developing systems based on business needs, automating manual processes and improving efficiencies in general. The Software Development Department is also responsible for supporting the business operations on the daily basis.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
All responsibilities are generally performed on a daily basis, unless otherwise noted. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist in the maintenance of C# and ASP.NET applications as well as legacy applications written in Visual Basic.

Work under the guidance of senior developers to re-write legacy applications using .NET technologies.

Resolve software defects in existing applications; work with software development and end users to help troubleshoot problems.

Work with software Q/A to test corrections and participate in the deployment process.

*
Assist in reviewing new support tickets and providing correct bug fixed or routing them to the correct development team.

*
Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc tasks to help support company operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Candidates must have 2+ years programming experience with at least one full year .NET experience (C# and/or ASP.NET) and 2+ years experience with T-SQL and SQL Server stored procedures.
* Candidates must have an understanding of object oriented and n-tier development in the Microsoft Windows and web environment.
* Familiarity with MS Office and a reporting platform such as MS Reporting Services, Crystal Reports or Active Reports a plus.
* Experience with Visual Basic programming, migrating legacy systems to .NET, or in a relevant financial services industry is a plus.
* A bachelor s degree in computer science, MIS or related field is preferred but not required.
