Description

AAA Insurance Exchange is looking for a seasoned executive manager who is seeking a challenging and rewarding environment defining, building, and supporting a state of the art web and mobile presence for a fast paced, growing Insurance company. Definition, Implementation, and maintenance of the AAA Insurance Exchange Web-Mobile presence is one of IT's highest priority and most strategic initiatives a plays a fundamental role in establishing AAA's competitive advantage and ability to provide differentiated service to various constituent groups.

This person will be a member of the Application Services senior management team within the Information Technology organization, reporting to the IT Application Services Executive. This individual must demonstrate executive-level interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills while having the ability to innovate, formulate creative strategies, and bring them to life. An ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit and passion to their work.

This person will be assigned to work directly with Business Owners across the company who are trying to deploy Web-Mobile solutions. These owners include; Marketing, Sales, Insurance Operations, Claims, AAA Clubs, Finance, Administration & Communications, Board of Directors, and suppliers.

This person will have key responsibilities in the following areas:

This person will be responsible and accountable for defining and maintaining the AAA Insurance Exchange We-Mobile business strategy. This includes aligning the Web-Mobile strategy to the business strategy of the AAA Insurance Exchange. This person will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Web-Mobile strategy on an on-going basis. This strategy would include current state, future state, and roadmap to move from current state to future state. This person will lead research efforts to ensure AAA Insurance Exchange is deploying the latest solutions and technologies to maintain competitive advantage. This person will continuously analyzes the market to ensure competitiveness of current and future Web-Mobile products

This person will be accountable and responsible for leading the organization responsible for executing delivery of the new Web-Mobile IT platform with on time, on budget, and high level of quality performance. This person will be responsible for staffing the function, executing the design, development, testing, user acceptance, and deployment into production of the new Web-Mobile IT platform. This will include development and support of AAA Insurance Exchange landing environment, Agent Portal, Member Portal, Club Portal, Company Internal Portal, Board of Directors Portal, Supplier Portal, and other portals necessary and required to enable the AAA Insurance Exchange. This will include buying and / or developing all application functionality required to support the AAA Insurance Exchange business.

This person will be responsible for building out the financial models (budgets) to develop and support the Web-Mobile capability for AAA Insurance Exchange. This leader must have a strong financial acumen and be able to assist in financial engineering this new function.

This leader will be responsible for designing the future state IT organization and then building out that organization to support the new IT Web-Mobile platform as well as manage all IT demand initiatives from the AAA Insurance Exchange organization(s). This person will be responsible for enabling and supporting all Web-Mobile IT platforms as well as successfully managing IT Web-Mobile initiatives. This will be a 20 to 30 million dollar investment area for the AAA Insurance Exchange over the next 3 to 4 years.
This person will be responsible for leading an architectural team charged with defining the technology architecture to enable and support the Web-Mobile platform and initiatives. This person will oversee Web-Mobile product development. This leader will be responsible for implementing Web-Mobile product development policies and practices, setting objectives, delivering new products, and then supporting those new products.

This person will be responsible for putting in place the operating practices to ensure there is a smooth process and communications between the business and IT and between the IT Applications functions for Web-Mobile and the IT operations functions. This will include insuring the proper operating procedures are in place and that all parties required to support and enable the IT Web-Mobile platform have the background and experience required to sustain this platform.

This person must put in place the practices to ensure operational stability of the Web-Mobile platform as well as operational stability of all other components of the technology that enables and supports the Web-Mobile business functions.

This person will be responsible for managing strategic vendor relationships (supply chain) for technologies enabling and supporting the Web-Mobile business functions. This includes ensuring that supplier technology roadmaps are in sync with both AAA's technology and company strategy and business requirements.

This person must continuously improve IT Business Services supporting the Web-Mobile business - providing better service at reduced cost over time.

This person must be a business strategist and business partner to the Insurance executive team and help the business to identify opportunities and strategies where technology services can enable better customer services or improved internal business processes.

This person will be integral to supporting and enabling the development of the overall IT organization. This person must have skills and abilities to extend support and enable other components of the IT Business.

*
This person is responsible for developing an innovative, forward-looking technology strategy that supports the objectives of the Web-Mobile function. This person must interact effectively and synergistically with the office of the CTO and develop comprehensive approaches to solve business problems.

*
This person must deeply understand the overall business strategy, market, competition, customer experience and information systems usability, demographic trends and shifts.

Qualifications

Experience and Requirments:

* A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is required. An MBA is a strong plus.
* 20+ Years of experience in technology leadership, preferably with a strong business strategy component, large system deployment component, sustaining operations component, knowledge of IT Operations (all Disciplines), and built out from scratch a sustaining applications and sustains support IT functions.
* Positions could include Senior IT Director Operations, Senior IT Director Program Management, Senior IT Director Applications Deployment. Experience working in innovative technology (J2EE) startups is a plus.
* Experience with methodologies and practices of IT Business Management, Services Management and Technology Product Management. Experience with large program deployment practices.
* The person must have demonstrated ability to define the strategy and roll out complex, mission critical solutions, particularly solutions targeted at broad audiences.
* The person must have demonstrated an ability to think strategically, develop and own product or technology roadmaps, apply systematic methodologies to prioritization of investments, and effectively execute on these investments.
* Experience within the insurance industry or other financial business is highly preferred.
* The ideal candidate has implemented innovative technology systems, including web technology expertise - web frameworks, server platforms, development tools and/or architecture and design.
* The candidate must have a substantial knowledge of infrastructure (hardware, software, network, storage)
* Mobility and social networking solutions knowledge a plus.
* This person should also have a comprehensive understanding of product and technology trends and future directions and the business implications of these changes.
* Given the broad nature of the technology market and that a candidate may have less familiarity in a specific segment requires that they have a demonstrated ability to quickly come up to speed and grasp the key elements of the technology.
* Broad general management skills with time spent in non-technology roles would be extremely beneficial.
* Demonstrated effective oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to frame complex issues and persuade a wide and diverse audience.
* Demonstrated ability to create business case for investment and portfolio management.
