Systems engineer responsible for configuring, managing, and monitoring the servers that provide the supporting infrastructure for the EPIC Electronic Health Record System

Job Description
* Creating and managing the EPIC Cache environments that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
* Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system.
* Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues.
* Managing the logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration.
* Applying Caché and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments.
* Configuring and maintaining environment copies according to the environment strategy.
* Responding to emergency and after-hours issues.
* Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources.
* Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks.
* Participating in your change control process for all planned application and technical activities.
* Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity.
* Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration.
* Engage CVS support resources as/when needed, especially UNIX, SAN, Windows and Citrix administrators in the CVS Share Services team (IEI).
* Responsible to maintain systems, security and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications
* 5 years of relevant experience
* 2-5 years experience building, supporting and running a tier 1 application.
* 2 -5 years experience as an IBM UNIX (AIX) or RedHat Linux Administrator.
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and firewalls.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting healthcare related applications.
* Experience supporting EMC storage and SAN
* Experience with esx and VMware
* Epic cache experience a plus
* Epic certifications a plus
* Good interpersonal skills - you will be communicating regularly with internal and external employees of various computer skill levels, helping them resolve a wide variety of technical issues.
* Self starter with ability to operate with little direct oversight.
* Effective priority and task management skills.

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
