Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is required. Agile experience preferred.
Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer in our Scottsdale, AZ location to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. Your daily activities could involve you in requirements analysis, assisting design activities, coding and/or unit testing. In short, you will be exposed to the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). See how a talented software team operates and more importantly, become a valued contributor to that team.
To qualify you must meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of at least one of the following languages: C++, C#, Java
- Have a basic understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Have a basic understanding of the software development process
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Have good written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of embedded software development
