  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected for the Systems Engineer position will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

    What you’ll be doing:
    • Defining and managing requirements and system design of a Continual Integration (CI) /Continual Development (CD) environment
    • Participating in decision analysis and resolution of potential solutions
    • Managing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and Authorization to Operate system accreditation for CI/CD environment
    • Writing and maintaining system operational and security policy documentation
    • Providing recommendations to customer on system specification decisions

    What you need to bring to the table:
    • Experience with Agile development
    • Experience with the use of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Knowledge of requirements management and CONOPS
    • Experience with decision analysis techniques
    • Proficiency in Configuration Management (CM) practices

    What sets you apart:
    • History with the submarine Sonar system (BQQ-10)
    • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
    • Familiarity with Cloud development environments (i.e. AWS, Azure, etc.)
    • Familiarity with the DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM)
    • Familiarity with automated test tools
    • Experience with writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and/or System Security Plan (SSP) documentation
    • Experience with requirements databases (i.e. DOORS, Altlassian Suite)
    • Ability to read configuration scripts

    One last thing:
