What will I be doing?

The Principal Cyber Security Engineer - Software & Automation role will support software development that provides environment measurement, security task automation, fast response, and improving investments in existing technology solutions through API integration and data extract, transform, and load operations.

More specifically, you will:

    -Develop software supporting measurement of configurations, performance, anomaly detection, and standards conformance.
    -Improve and continue development of tool integrations through product APIs.
    -Work with Hilton Cloud architecture groups, and DevOps teams, to further develop information security automation systems.
    -Work to integrate, and further develop, an Agile software development capability for cyber automation.
    -Build and maintain documentation in the form of architectural diagrams including system level services and network flow documentation.
    -Adhere and promote secure coding practices including ongoing maintenance of secure code repositories, code error checking, and processes including static/dynamic coding analysis.
    -Work with other members of the Global Information Security to review and ensure automation systems are deployed securely.
What are we looking for?

We believe success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

    -Strong at developing dynamic and positive relationships.
    -Understanding of OSI model Layer 2 and above.
    -Proficient in the design, development, quality assurance, and deployment of Microsoft Windows applications and automation tasks written in C# supported by Microsoft Visual Studio.
    -Proficient in using WMI and native Windows native Win32 interop calls within C#.
    -Proficient in all aspects of developing multi-threaded applications using native threads and the task parallel library including the understanding of setting security context within individual threads/tasks.
    -Proficient in researching and using external vendor APIs and web services, incorporating external APIs within custom written applications and scripts.
    -Strong solid grasp and efficient querying skills of Active Directory and other enterprise LDAP providers.
    -Familiarity with security solutions and configurations to embedded Windows variants that may run on POS terminals, kiosks, and other (IoT) devices.
    -Understanding of secure development lifecycle practices, secure software design, common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP), and secure code analysis methods.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

    -Twelve (12) years of experience in Technology
    -Ten (10) years of specialized experience in software engineering and automation
    -Two (2) years spent applying networking concepts in development activities (IPAM, DHCP, DNS, secure device configuration management)
    -Travel up to 30% of the time

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

    -Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree with fifteen (15+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED with twenty five (25+) years of Technology related experience
    -Ten (10) years of experience in two or more of the following: Node.js, Go, C#, or Python programming
    -Fourteen (14) years of experience in Technology
    -CISSP and/or solution specific technical certifications
