Job Description
Lockheed Martin has a excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Test Engineer in the Structural and Mechanical Laboratories in Orlando, Florida and will report directly to the Structural and Labs area supervisor.

The group is responsible for providing solutions to the R&D and Production programs.

The overall primary job responsibility is setup and execution of structural and environmental tests on aerospace-grade prototype and production parts and assemblies in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs. The position would require the applicant to interface with program engineers to strategize testing scope and schedule, prioritize test activities, and implement data capture, process and delivery. The candidate should possess experience and knowledge in operating vibration shakers, drop-shock machines and /humidity chambers in a environment. This individual would also support programs in test plan/procedure documentation, Readiness Review coordination, and test series execution. The ability to work within a team and lead supporting technicians in achieving objectives.

Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience or no experience required with a related Masters degree; or 6 years professional experience in lieu of Bachelors degree.

Proficient in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.

Demonstrates sound writing and verbal communication skills in a teaming environment.

Possesses extensive knowledge and analysis skills for statics and dynamics calculations

Capable of obtaining certifications to operate a pallet stacker and overhead hoist/cranes.

Capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives Possessors License.

Desired skills
Familiarity with a environment, and the previous experience in operating generic equipment (ED shakers, chambers, temp/alt chambers, etc.)

Experience in using multi-channeled controllers for vibration testing like VR, UD APEX, or M+P, and ability to program profiles.

General knowledge of thermocouple and accelerometer sensor theory, installation onto hardware, and applications for testing and control strategy.

Programming experience in MATLAB, C++ and equivalent software. Ability to capture, reduce, and format data into time histories, SRSs, transfer functions, or PSDs for customer review.

Current DoD Secret clearance.

Current ATF Explosives Possessors License.

Telecommuting Information

Work Schedule Information
