    Network Automation Programmer Intermediate

    Responsibilities

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Provide an automated solution that drives efficient change, automation, and configuration and provides security administration, and compliance across the network domain. will have an ability and access to the control functions of the information system/network, administration of user accounts, etc.

    Provide solutions that reduce costs and human error associated with manual tasks and change by automating those tasks. Develop automated workflows that will be run on an ad hoc and/or scheduled basis. These workflows will be developed as templates based on internal or external organizational requirements as they are requested on the automation request site. Ensure the workflows are configured properly to provide infrastructure capacity and performance management monitoring for forecasting and planning on future requirements. Develop and maintain custom scripts that will be used outside of automation tools when it is determined to be more efficient and less resource intensive.

    Will rack, power, and cable new communications hardware into the DCI. Work with Data Center Facilities Managers to determine rack locations. The contractor shall rack new hardware that is not vendor owned. Work with Data Center Facilities Managers to ensure power is supplied to rack locations and that devices are powered when racked. Work with the engineers to cable new communication devices based on engineering provided cable cut-sheets.

    Provision new Capacity Services Contract (CSC), dedicated Mission Partner (MP), and DISA Program Managed (PM) hardware and Virtual Operating Environments (VOE) with baseline configurations and Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG). Develop custom scripts or orchestration workflows for new communication devices. The contractor shall maintain and update provisioning scripts/workflows. The contractor shall track and maintain new virtual and hardware communications devices in the Device Transition List (DTL). The contractor shall work in concert with engineers and cyber line of business by fielding new communication hardware and determining new baseline configurations and STIGs. The contractor is responsible for establishing baseline configurations to be used during automated provisioning.

    Decommission legacy and CSC, dedicated MP, and PM hardware and VOE communication devices. Develop custom scripts or orchestration workflows to ensure communication devices are sanitized, removed from maintenance contracts, and properly disposed of. Maintain and update decommissioning scripts/workflows. Track and maintain devices marked for decommission in the Decommission Tracker.

    Automate STIG and Policy Compliance Checks for network device configurations. Develop compliance check policies to identify vulnerabilities within the communications infrastructure. Develop remediation using compliance check policies. Coordinate with stakeholders through the Change Management process to remediate high-risk vulnerabilities on the network.

    Integrate Enterprise Systems Management (ESM) and custom tools and scripts into network Automation and Orchestration Tools shall support the integration of new tools into the Data Center Communications Infrastructure DCI. Support the migration of legacy and custom scripts into new Agency Tools as they are integrated into the DCI. Support the removal of network footprints for network tools that are sunset and retired on the DCI.

    Provide support to internal Ecosystem personnel and external organizations to test and field new Proof of Concepts (POCs) for the Ecosystem and DISA. Support the building and testing of POCs for potential acquisition. Provide support in working with Vendors to provide POC requirements, licensing, and Vendor Support. Support the standup of the POC in Milcloud vDC. Support user testing and provide test data and analysis feedback to assist DISA in determining tools for acquisition.

    Assist in the development of custom dashboards that are updated using automated workflows, reports, and scripts. Develop and maintain a communications automation portal (CMP) for storing and displaying custom data and reports. Develop and maintain custom dashboards to display status of automated data pulls in CMP. The contractor shall support ESM in requirements needed to build custom dashboards on ESM Tools.

    Support enterprise standards in accordance with DoD direction to include: development of supporting documentation, leading technical working groups, conducting product evaluations, developing recommendations, and conducting pre-implementation activities. Use automation and configuration management standardization to increase network stability and uptime by preventing inconsistencies or misconfigurations across the network.

    Analyze the operating environment; maximize the utilization of the automation and orchestration vehicle within the environment, and leverage automation and orchestration capabilities to automate and simplify network administration functions to reduce Incidents. Assist with providing installation, upgrade, and de-installation support for automation and orchestration servers, application, and software as well as related modules. Help develop and implement automated orchestration workflows and templates using automation and orchestration tools. Automate repeatable processes for day-to-day administration of network devices. Push configuration changes to multiple network devices. Work with the Network Operations team on loading and maintaining a standard base set of software for all network devices encompassed by automation and orchestration tools. Work with internal and external organizations and mission partners to assist with integration of requirements into automation and orchestration.

    Provide network automation support. Analyze the DCI and Data Center operating environment, maximize the utilization of HP Operations Orchestration (HPOO) and HP Network Automation (HPNA) within the environment, and leverage HPOO and HPNA capabilities to automate and simplify network administration functions to reduce errors and down times. Assist with providing installation, upgrade, and de-installation support for HPOO, HPNA, and related modules. Help develop and implement workflows and templates using HPOO and HPNA. Automate repeatable processes for day-to-day administration of network devices. Push configuration changes to multiple network devices. Work with Network Operations team on loading and maintaining a standard base set of software for all network devices encompassed by HPOO/HPNA. Work with external partners and customers to assist with integration into HPOO/HPNA for potential future endeavors.

    • Four years relevant experience programming languages to include but not-limited to Phython, PHP, Perl, SQL, bash, expect, tcl, javascript, html, xml, Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) and variations of xml for REST/SOAP APIs.

    Education Requirements
