Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 by 14 obstetricians, pediatricians, and family practitioners as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Hospital in 1995.
In June 2007, Odessa Regional Hospital purchased Alliance Hospital and changed its name to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. In 2015, ORMC acquired Basin Healthcare Center. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
About the Position:
Assists Physicians with Interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body imaging on patients. Provides proper care, patient evaluation and education for both in and out patients following prescribe schedules, physician orders, competencies, protocols and utilizing proper equipment and procedures. Required to follow Policy and procedure and standards of practice for interventional radiology. May be required to rotate to the cath lab and participate in that teams call and holiday rotation.
- Position Requirements: Graduate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Licensed in Radiology with the state of Texas.
- BLS credential from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a diagnostic radiographer for entry level IR Tech. Prefer 2 years’ experience in an Interventional setting or Cath Lab setting.
- Credential in Vascular Imaging (such as the VI credential offered through ARRT) within 2 years of date hire or transfer within the department.
- Incumbents in this position must possess: clinical excellence within Radiology or other area of expertise, demonstrated leadership ability, assertiveness and confidence, strong communication skills (written and oral), problem solving skills and be self-directed.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the department and patient is required. The incumbent will be able to maintain stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands. Meets all required competencies within specified time frames.
About Regulatory Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent;
- Graduate from Diploma Program, Associates Degree, or BS degree in Radiologic Technology
- Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Radiology Licensure in the State of Texas
- Chest Pain Education
- Recommended Stroke Education
