The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) is seeking a part-time IT student to join its Enterprise Solutions Department. Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $20.00 per hour

General Summary:

Under the direction of the relationship manager, Finance, develop and provide support for current Business Analytics systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support development phase of the application development life cycle for business analytics in accordance with defined standards.
  2. Code, test and implement browser-based programs.
  3. Provide internet, intranet, and SharePoint support to users.
  4. Develop and maintain system documentation in accordance with defined standards.
  5. Provide status reports in accordance with defined standards.
  6. Resolve application production problems as necessary.
  7. Assist in other projects assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. College student currently pursuing a career in math, computer science or business preferred.
  2. Successful completion of at least one programming course required.
  3. Coursework in RDBMS, such as SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, MySQL preferred.
  4. Experience with PC, local area network (LAN), internet or intranet required.
  5. Previous work experience preferred.
  6. Knowledge of standard business operations preferred.
  7. Ability to work with and preserve confidential information required.
  8. Above-average oral and written communication skills required.
  9. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts required.
  10. Above-average organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
  11. Proven ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and standard office equipment required.
  12. Ability to work independently and in a team environment while meeting deadlines with minimal direct supervision required.
  13. Excellent work record of attendance, punctuality and the ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet business needs. Occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours may be required.
