Job Summary:We are seeking a qualified professional individual to fill the role of "Manufacturing Engineer" The chosen candidate will, with independent judgment and discretion, plan and design manufacturing processes at our facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Primarily supports the manufacturing team resolving manufacturing issues for Salt Lake City, operations.
Troubleshoot manufacturing processes for rate, cost, safety, and quality improvements.
Writes and reviews process specifications and detailed manufacturing procedures.
Prepare planning analysis, work cell layouts.
Continually reviews current processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommends solutions to overcome these issues.
Self-starter/motivated engineer with great organizational skills.
Justification and implementation of capital equipment requests; oversees production equipment maintenance.
Conceptualize, design and implement of production tooling and equipment.
Prepare labor costs and tooling/equipment costs for the job proposals.
Compiles and evaluates test and production data and provides recommendation for continuous process improvements or modifications.
Performs projects to eliminate defects and reduce costs.
Supports supervisors in training manufacturing personnel on manufacturing process.
Transition development jobs to production
Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience):
BS Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent composites design and manufacturing experience.
4+ years of engineering experience in a mid to high volume manufacturing environment
Proficient in design using Solidworks, CATIA, or equivalent current 3d design package
Ability to independently determine and develop manufacturing related solutions as issues arrive. May make some original contributions or apply new professional engineering approaches and techniques to the development of processes.
Makes responsible decisions on matters assigned, including the establishment of professional engineering standards and procedures.
Consults, recommends, and advises in specialty engineering areas.
Capable of managing workload requirements for 25% company revenue customers while balancing improvement projects
Concise reporting of data and preparation of materials for the Change Control Board or Customer Reviews
Advanced understanding of ERP/MRP software
Proficient in manufacturing technical principles and general knowledge of related disciplines.
Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems of moderate to complex in scope.
Excellent working knowledge of all MS Suite products.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and mathematical concepts related to the manufacturing process.
Provide thorough justification and implementation of capital equipment requests; lead production equipment maintenance.
Lead preparation labor costs and tooling/equipment costs for job proposals.
Identify and build relationships with material suppliers to identify areas for cost reduction or improvement
Lead systems level improvement projects to strengthen the Engineering Team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on technical writing with an extremely high accuracy rate required.
