Position Description
Performs professional level analysis and control functions in area of assignment.

Major/Essential Functions
Financial Management :

Maintains departmental fund accounts to include scheduled accounting functions and completes complex analyses. 

Establish/maintain internal departmental controls for cash management in compliance with applicable institutional policies.

Maintains and creates complex budget and finance reports to present to management for review on a regularly scheduled basis. 

Manages all purchasing functions to include travel. Responsible for materials management. 

Manages departmental grants. Prepares budgets and maintains accounting records for all grants.

Business and Clinical Operations 
Ensure appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment.
Assist in the development and implementation of the department's strategic business plan.

Coordinates and/or assists in special projects as assigned.

Professional Development
Serve as a departmental leader in this position. Lead by example. Have a team oriented mindset.

Serve as a mentor and promote professional development of staff.

Communicate professionally and effectively with Department Management Team (Chair, Nurse Manager, IT Manager, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fund Accounting Experience
  • Proficiency in Banner system and in utilization of Cognos reports.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. 
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of work environment and general office procedures;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and the general public.
  • Must possess excellent English and grammar skills, oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field.  Three (3) years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years. (Work experience excludes volunteer work).
