Position Summary

Underindirect supervision, the SNA2 will provide technical support and oversight forsystems and services including general installation and administration ofMicrosoft Windows Server (2012 and 2016), Active Directory services, server andstorage hardware and enterprise applications (including installation,configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and support). Will provide technicalguidance in collaboration with the HSC Systems team that requires intermediateknowledge and experience within a predominantly Microsoft ecosystem including ActiveDirectory, Windows Server 2012/2016 and Microsoft Hyper-V. Requires knowledge and experience in principlesand practices of systems analysis and administration. Problem analysis andresolution as well as IT project management skills are required. Ability towork effectively within an ITIL framework is required. Desired additional experience would includePowerShell scripting, Microsoft Exchange administration, enterprise backupsystems, and Linux system administration. Knowledge of hyper convergedinfrastructure and AHV hypervisor would be a plus.

* Experienceand skill in PowerShell scripting
* Knowledgeand demonstrated skill in enterprise backup systems
* Experiencewith business continuity and disaster recovery planning a plus
* Experiencewith user identity management

HSC ITprovides primary IT support for the academic and research operations at theHealth Sciences Center. The successful applicant will work closely with theother IT departments and will be expected to collaborate with our partners andcounterparts in the UNM Health System (clinical operations) in the managementof enterprise-wide shared services. This position will participate in therotation schedule of on-call Systems staff to respond to and address criticalsystem issues outside of regular work hours. All members of the HSC Systemsgroup must demonstrate a commitment to consistently providing responsive, highquality customer service to departments and end users.

Thesuccessful applicant will have exceptional communication skills, expertise inMicrosoft server, virtualization and Active Directory technologies developedthrough experience and formal training, a clear sense of customer service, athorough understanding of the values, practices and procedures found in anacademic health sciences center and a commitment to mentoring and developingtechnical staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and 2016) and ActiveDirectory within a complex IT environment. List any applicable professionalcertifications, e.g. MCSE.
  • Proficiency with server virtualization technologies - (Microsoft Hyper-Vand/or Nutanix AHV).
  • Ability to plan, implement, install, test and troubleshoot systemsoftware and hardware within an ITIL framework of change management.
  • IT project management skills, particularly those involving systemupgrades and migrations.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Outlook client.
  • Experience with Identity Management systems (Sailpoint preferred) anduser account lifecycle management.
  • Experience with enterprise Backup/Restore systems, DisasterRecovery/Business Continuity processes.
