Position Summary

The Health Sciences Center (HSC) Chief Information Office (CIO) is responsible for information technology at the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC). UNM Health Sciences Center Chief Information Office is looking for a full-time experienced Technical Analyst 1 within the Classroom Technology group.

The Classroom Technology Unit provides support for a wide variety of educational technologies within the Health Sciences Center. These include lecture capture, video conferencing, digital signage, and classroom related audio visual technologies. The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong technical, communication, and organizational skills; excellent problem solving skills; solid end-user documentation skills, and experience with working in a technical support center. The ideal candidate will have experience in audiovisual troubleshooting, day to day incident management, as well as end user training and support. Strong customer service skills are a must as this position provides in-person help and training on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using and troubleshooting audio visual components
  • Experience troubleshooting, installation, andconfiguration of common hardware and peripherals such as projectors,wired/wireless microphones, audio mixers, and echo cancellation technologies
  • Ability to analyzing complex end-user computerproblems and providing documented solutions, including any tracking andreporting of support tickets and phone calls
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions tonon-technical people both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with the creation of user documentation forcommon issues (i.e. creation of FAQs, knowledge base articles, etc.)
  • Experience working with IT ticketing systems
