Position SummaryThe Department of Computer Science,School of Engineering, UNM main campus, anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty forthe Spring 2020, Summer 2020, or Fall 2020 Semesters.
Anticipated openings potentiallyinclude the following subjects:
Potential subjects include any and allsubjects currently being taught by the department, such as programming,computer systems, computer applications, and computer security.
The department is committed to excellence in both undergraduateand graduate education, with an ABET-accredited B.S. degree program in computerscience, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs involving students in leading edgeresearch.

Candidates must have completed an MS or PhD in CS or related byDecember 31, 2019. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment toundergraduate and graduate teaching, proven teaching skills in undergraduateeducation and the ability to teach CS courses in areas of departmental need,and have a broadly demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, andstudent success, as well as with broadly diverse communities.

Positions are contingent upon needeach semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current courseoffering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for thesepositions will report to Darko Stefanovic, Chair of Computer Science.

Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways:

  1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other closely related field; or

  2. 5 years or more of industry experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution

  2. Successful teaching in a community college

  3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
