Position SummaryThe Business and Industrial Technologies Department at University of New Mexico - Valencia Campus seeks to hire a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach in the Film Technology program beginning the Fall 2019 semester. The program is a 32-credit hour certificate offering specialized training in film industry pre-production, production, and post-production. Courses offered include, but are not limited to: Cinematography, Short-Film Production, Commercial Production, Documentary Film Production, Post-Production.

The posting will remain open and applicants will be selected as needed per semester. For best consideration for the fall 2019 semester, please apply by 07/01/19; for the spring 2020 semester, please apply by 11/15/19; for the summer 2020 semester, please apply by 04/01/2020.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Film or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Certification in Final cut Pro and/or Adobe Pro
  • Experience in the movie industry working on feature or independent films and/or production experience above- or below-the-line
  • One year of teaching experience in the field of Film, both online and face-to-face courses, at the community college level
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
