Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo’s more than 70 million global customers.

This is a position on the WF Administration Authorized Provisioning (APP) application team.  This team will support the ingestion, cleansing and parsing of data classified in the Admin Data Domain into the Enterprise Data Environment, landing information in the Enterprise Data Lake to build an Enterprise Data Asset.  The team will also support other corresponding enterprise initiatives.

The Enterprise Data Lake is a core enterprise capability that enables key initiatives that drives the Company’s data transformation, analytics agenda, digitization of products and services, regulatory compliance, and etc.  At the center of the Enterprise Data Lake is the big data platform comprised of a rich portfolio of open source products (Hadoop and related eco-system tools), COTS (commercially off-the-shelf) products, and in sourced developed capabilities.

The Systems Engineer (App Sys Eng 5) position will be primarily focused on engineering, development and support of the ingestion, cleansing and parsing of data classified in the Administration Data Domain into the Enterprise Data Lake. This position will be a subject matter expert on the process and underlying technology infrastructure.  Candidates should have a computer science or information technology degree with deep experience writing and supporting AbInitio applications.  A good candidate will also have experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Map Reduce, Oozie). Ideal candidates should have experience and working knowledge of Git, Elasticsearch and Python. In addition, this candidate must have excellent, interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills as technology teams primarily work virtually.  Finally, candidates should be comfortable collaborating with non-technical financial business professionals troubleshooting issues and translating business requirements and writing clear and concise documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java, or PL-SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata
  • 5+ years of Ab Initio experience
  • 2+ years of data management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to senior leaders
  • Experience Hadoop ecosystem tools relevant for real-time and batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning using tools such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Hive or Apache Storm
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and direct diverse teams in a shift based, decentralized, and geographically dispersed environment
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
  • Ability to capture and document complex business and functional requirements
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo PAC2000 -WF's ticketing system based on Remedy application
  • 1+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse and data analytics capabilities on big-data architecture such as Hadoop
