The Enterprise Password Services (EPS) team in Enterprise Information Security (EIS) is looking for a senior Application Systems Engineer. The EPS team is responsible for managing passwords for myriad applications and authentication systems of records throughout Wells Fargo. User passwords are managed by the Automated Password Service, an adaptation of the Hitachi ID Password Manager product. Privileged and service accounts are managed by the CyberArk password vault. Additionally the team manages the in-house developed Secure One-Time Authentication application for out-of-band, auditable team member to team member authentication.

The EPS team is expanding to support Wells Fargo's current and future password management needs, developing secure solutions for integrating the above third party password management products with the applications and authentication systems of records in use at Wells Fargo. This includes but is not limited to: Active Directory/LDAP, Oracle/SQL Server and other database systems, mainframe terminal applications, SSH connections and applications with RESTful or SOAP APIs. Integration solutions may involve development in various languages as necessary: C, C++, C#, .Net, Python, Perl, Powershell, Javascript, PHP, and SQL. Other development responsibilities may also require front-end web development skills involving Javascript, CSS, HTML and frameworks such as jQuery, Bootstrap, React. Due to the sensitive nature of our area of focus, strong security-focused software development skills (e.g. avoiding XSS vulnerabilities, preventing buffer overflows, using CSRF tokens, avoiding SQL injection) and experience with secure Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, particularly with source code management and deployment, are important.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identifying, formulating and implementing complex information security tools, solutions and controls.
  • Acting as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs.
  • Analyzing highly complex business requirements, designing and writing technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Developing highly complex original code and acting as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
  • Verifying program logic by writing test plans and overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Performing security peer reviews prior to code deployments.
  • Overseeing overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
  • Developing new documentation, departmental technical procedures, and deployment and user guides.
  • Assuring quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and overseeing creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of application development experience
  • 4+ years of scripting and automation experience
  • 1+ year application security vulnerability detection and mitigation experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with password vaulting systems such as CyberArk
  • Knowledge and understanding of application and web security
  • Web application security vulnerability detection and mitigation experience
  • 3+ years of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience

  • 3+ years of SQL experience

  • 3+ years of JavaScript development experience
  • 3 + years of experience with front end frameworks such as Bootstrap
  • 3+ years of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Internet security protocol experience
  • 3+ years of C# experience
  • 3+ years of C++ experience
  • 3+ years of .net experience
  • 3+ years of Perl or Shell experience
  • 3+ years of Python experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Fortify Code Analyzer
  • Knowledge and understanding of cryptography and key management
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected results



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of PHP experience
  • 3+ years of JavaScript framework experience (YUI, jQuery, React)
  • Experience with Hitachi ID Password Manager or IAM Suite
  • Experience with "green screen" terminal scraping
  • Experience with F12 Developer Tools
  • Experience with HTTP tools such as Postman
  • Experience developing software that uses client-side certificate authentication
  • Experience with Smarty Template Engine


Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

AZ-Chandler: Min: $90,300 Mid: $129,000
